3.0 out of 5 stars Trace amounts confused me, delaying the doctor was a mistake, March 6, 2016

This review is from: Easy@Home(UTI-10P) Urinary Tract Infection Test Strips (UTI test strips), 10 individually packed tests/box- FDA Approved for OTC USE, Urinalysis Test to detect Leukocytes and Nitrite (Health and Beauty)
I'm very aware of minor changes in my body, so when I began feeling some increased urgency to urinate, some burning that was stubborn to go away, I pulled out my box of tests that I had luckily purchased in advance and unexpired. My test came back with "trace" amounts of leukocytes, I could hardly tell if there was a true difference in color. I doubted that I had an infection. I drank more water hoping I was just dehydrated. The next day I tested first thing in the morning, as the instructions said. Again could barely tell if I had "trace" leukocytes. At this point it was Friday, and getting in with my doctor or into an urgent care clinic was looking difficult. The test didn't seem positive enough to take action and get to a doctor and my symptoms were tolerable and I still felt some relief on and off. On the third morning (a Saturday) I was in so much pain, I was counting the minutes until I could get treatment. I tested again with my first urine of the morning and... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Just take the strip (looks like any kind of paper dipstick for testing), August 30, 2016

These work just as well as the other brand (that sells the cranberry supplements).

Instructions say to collect urine in a cup, but most of us women have peed on some kind of stick so we know what we're doing, right?

Just take the strip (looks like any kind of paper dipstick for testing), do your thing (one second) and wait 1-2 minutes to compare it to the colors on the box. Easy. And great for when you think you might have a uti but not quite sure. Of course if you have symptoms see a doctor as soon as you can.

These strips have correctly identified my elderly mother's UTIs several times over the past few years. It is difficult to take her to the doctor so it is helpful to know that she truly needs to be seen before making an appointnent and trip. I recommend the ones that are individually wrapped, as the ones in the jar are more vulnerable to light, air, and moisture.
